Purple Rain x Venner, Hollywood Road, December 2025

If our first event with OMEN was about discovery, Gloggcore was the night things started to feel inevitable.

December 20th. 161 Hollywood Road. Venner, a Nordic inspired café and wine bar in Central, warm wood, soft light, the smell of cardamom. By evening, with over a hundred people finding their way through the door, it became something louder and more alive without ever losing that quality.

What Was on the Table

Four pairings, each designed to let the wine and food find each other without either one trying too hard.

FARMentation's Cha Pét-Nat with mushroom truffle and hummus crisps. Lingering Clouds' Pét-Nat Muscat with Nordic arctic prawns and flatbread. Honey Pot with Nordic meatballs and lingonberry jam, the centrepiece of the evening, rich and warming in exactly the right way for December. And Shofang's Plum Cider alongside Venner's brunost cheesecake, a pairing that sounded like a risk and turned out to be one of the highlights of the night.

The Room and the Street

At a certain point the party spilled onto Hollywood Road. Glasses in hand, coats pulled on, the cold December air doing nothing to dampen the mood. When the police arrived to suggest the street had other purposes, we took it as the most flattering possible review.

Over a hundred people came. Most of them stayed. That is what we take from the night.
